Daisy Fuentes was born on November 17, 1966, in Havana, Cuba. At age 3, Fuentes and her family relocated to Madrid, Spain, and when she was 7 they moved to Harrison, New Jersey. Fuentes remained in New Jersey throughout the rest of her schooling years. She was crowned homecoming queen and graduated from Harrison High School in 1984. She then attended Bergen Community College where she studied communications and journalism.
While still in school, Fuentes was selected to be the weather-girl for WNJU Channel 47, a Telemundo station, which is second-largest Spanish language network in the US. She graduated from weather-girl to reporter to evening news anchor. At age 19, MTV took notice of the young anchor and recruited her to host the MTV Internacional, which later became MTV en Español and later MTV Latin America.
While gaining exposure through MTV, Fuentes began pursuing an acting career. In 1992, she won a role on the daytime soap Loving. Over the next couple years, she took on guest appearances on television shows, including Dream On and Ghostwriter. In 1994 she was invited to host her own talk show on CNBC titled Daisy. The show lasted just one season.
From 1997 to 2000, Fuentes co-hosted America's Funniest Home Videos. During this time, she also picked up a number of other hosting gigs, including MTV's House of Style, the 1998 World Music Awards and the 1999 Billboard Latin Awards. More recently, Fuentes has hosted the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe pageants, World Poker Tour, and has made several appearances on Hollywood Squares.
In addition to her extensive television hosting work, she has also found success in the modeling industry. She has been a spokesmodel for Revlon, American Express, Pantene, M&M's and Miller Lite. She has appeared in several magazines including Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar, Fitness, Latina, Shape, and two shoots for Stuff, and one for their sister magazine, Maxim.
Fuentes has also branched out to create her own line of fitness videos and her own clothing line, which is sold exclusively by Kohl's Department Stores.Fuentes was married to her high school sweetheart and actor Timothy Adams from 1991-1995. She dated singer Luis Miguel from 1995-2000. She is currently engaged to singer Matt Gross, the twin brother of actor Luke Gross.
